Biography: John M. Lentz

John Max Lentz was born on January 30, 1896 in Florence, Kentucky. He served in the First World War in the artillery corps of the U.S. Army.

Lentz was an instructor when the Second World War broke out. In 1944, as Brigadier General, he commanded the 12th General Artillery Corps of the Third U.S. Army in Europe. Lentz officiated as presiding judge in the Dachau Main Trial. He died on February 24, 1989 in El Paso, Texas.
