New staff at the Dachau Memorial Site 2018
Bernhard Krause has been working as technical director at Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site since December 2017. Previously, he worked in the IT sector for more than 25 years, most of them as IT department head in a large cooperative bank. He will be able to profit the site by bringing his technical and commercial training to bear in his new duties, which are extremely many-sided and interesting.
Alex Pearman studied history and museum studies in Aberystwyth and Leicester (UK). After getting his master’s degree, he worked at the Imperial War Museum and later as director of the local museum in Wittlesey, England. He has been living in Munich since 2014 and spent the past four years as a full-time archeologist at excavations from early history to the present day. At the same time, he was giving guided tours of Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site from 2016 to mid-2018. Since July, Alex Pearman has been working as archivist at the Memorial Site, where he will be able to make good use of his great interest in German remembrance policy and his experience in collections management.
Evelyn Thurnbauer worked at a bank in Munich after training as a bank clerk in the area of real estate financing and at the same time studied economics at the distance learning university in Hagen. Since December 2017, Evelyn Thurnbauer has been responsible for the area of budget and finance at Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site.
