Mathilda Schlosser is 19 and comes from near Karlsruhe. Her
interest in political and historical subjects motivated her to take up her
voluntary year of social service at the Dachau Memorial Site. Before beginning
her university studies she wishes to do something useful and contribute to the
commemorative work in Dachau.
Laura Volk is 20 and comes from near Hanover. She also
began her voluntary year of social service at the Memorial Site in September
2015, having become interested in history and National Socialism while still at
school. She believes that there is still a great deal of research that needs to
be done in this area. She hopes that her voluntary year at Dachau will help her
to find out more about National Socialism
Both of the social year volunteers regularly
accompany the Dachau survivor Abba Naor to contemporary witness talks at
different schools and guide visitor groups through the grounds of the Dachau
Memorial Site.
