“A Lifelong Survival” – a Graphic Novel
What can a modern culture of remembrance and history education look like? Which types of media could make the history of the Dachau concentration camp more accessible? These questions were the starting point of a project initiated by the Education Department at the Dachau Memorial Site. The result is the touching graphic novel A Lifelong Survival. The Dachau Concentration Camp in the Secret Notes of the Prisoner Edgar Kupfer-Koberwitz. The novel is available here on this page, both as an animated short film and e-paper / flipbook. In addition, educational material on the graphic novel is presented; this material is suitable for preparing a visit to the Dachau Memorial Site as well as reflecting on the experience in a follow-up lesson. The graphic novel is for young persons aged 13 and over.
