Hour of Commemoration at the former SS Shooting Range in Hebertshausen

On Saturday, May 4, 2024, the day before the liberation ceremony, the “Anniversary of Liberation” initiative cordially invites you to an Hour of Commemoration at the former SS Shooting Range in Hebertshausen (address) at 4 p.m.

More than four thousand Soviet prisoners of war who were shot there by SS commandos between 1941 and 1944 are commemorated at the former “SS Shooting Range” in Hebertshausen.

Officers and soldiers from the USSR who were suspected of being communists by the Nazi regime were killed on the basis of the German “Commissar Order”. Jewish prisoners of war from the Soviet Union were treated in the same way. The prisoners were selected by the Wehrmacht and transferred to the SS. The “Anniversary of Liberation” initiative has been organizing this commemoration of those murdered here since 1985.
